PLACES TO VISIT
Located around 44 km away from Himachal Pradesh state capital Shimla, Chail is a quiet hill station best for a relaxing vacation. Maharaja of Patiala, Maharaja Bhupender Singh is often said to be the founder of this place who shifted to Chail after being banished from Shimla by the British government during pre-independent India. Chail is located on a higher altitude than Shimla thus it's obvious that the sights and serenity of this place is beyond imagination.
Hotel Grand Sunset is located within 5 minutes from Sidh Baba Ka Mandir, a famous temple amongst the tourists. Guests can plan for a picnic at the bridge built over the Ashwani River in Sadhupul, which is around 20 minutes drive from this hotel. One other tourist attraction which is located not too far from the hotel is the Chail Wildlife Sanctuary at a distance of 21 km, which can be reached within an hour’s drive from the property. This place is also home to world’s highest cricket ground. But Chail is rightly recognised through its historical building, the Chail Palace. It belonged to the Maharaja of Patiala, and was built way back in 1871. Still standing in all its glory, it is a relic of the past.
The hotel is within 26 km from Kufri Hill Station and Kandaghat Railway Station. The city of Shimla is 48 km away and Jubbarhatti Airport is approximately 55 km from the hotel.
